Journal Cover - Tasha

Hey there crafters.
We have had a great break over the holidays but now we over at Imagine if... are back into it creating projects to inspire using all the awesome craft supplies from Imagine if...
To kick this new year off I have used stencils, and chipboard pieces to create the cover of My Art Journal for 2015
I prepared the cover with gesso and then added a bit of colour ready to do some stenciling with ink and also some texture paste.  These stencils are available on the Imagine if website.

I then gesso'ed a selection of chipboard pieces so they would be able to take layers of sprays and paint.

After arranging them how I liked them I adhered them to the cover.  Layering them creates some interesting textures and dimension.  So much fun.
Making sure all is dry I then added some more embellishments from my stash and started the process of adding colour upon colour...acylic, and sprays and repeating all these steps until getting to a stage I liked.  There are no rules here just play.

So there you have it the cover of my 2015 Art Journal and it was sooooo much fun.  Please check out the Imagine if website for any of the stencils and chipboard pieces you see in this project and also comment below to be in to win A pack of various chipboard pieces from Imagine if....
Thank you

"Someting to Brag About" mini - Brenda

Time to get back into some serious crafting now after all these weeks off, mind you with xmas and work commitments there's been no time to even think of such pleasures anyhow.
Today's project is something I've been working on for sometime (on & off) and is still unfinished, with more embellishments, the closure and the all important photos and journaling to be completed.

This is my 1st DT project for 2015 and is FULL of awesome Imagine if . . chipboard, which is so versatile on all your projects.  We are also running a wee competition for you all to be in with a chance to win your own chipboard, all you need to do is leave a comment here, or on my page.

This mini is a project I purchased from Kathryn Krieger and you can get a better look at it on her You Tube video.  The cost was minimal and so worth it I think.  Throughout I've used Kaisercraft "Off the Wall", "Garage Days" and "Take Note" papers, on black cardstock.

These are the pages that I've finished embellishing so far, with many more to do.  There is a total of 12 pages, each being a pocket for a folding tag, so HEAPS of places for the memorable photos and journaling to go.

These are the next pages to be finished, then the all important task of adding photos.  This album is for my son to keep together all the photos of the many cars he has had.

Imagine if products used are: houses in a row, large cog set , small cog set , corner flourishes, steampunk scissors, arrows with words , quotes sheets , vehicle set , filmstrip, chicken wire , arrows with words 2 , key set , flourish  , circle frame .

Lots of exciting products used here.  Remember to leave a comment here and also to visit all the other DT ladies to have a chance to win on their sites as well.  This is the wee prize up for grabs, and who doesn't have a need for good words for those projects.  Good luck to you all.

Birthday Board - from Beth Barnes

Hi everyone,

Beth here today with my latest project. Sometimes Birthday Cards from me get a little delayed, so I saw this idea on Pinterest (a Birthday Board...) and thought I would make my own version.

I started out with a round board that was the face of a clock (I’d used the mechanism in another project). I covered the board with Imaginisce Bday Bash paper, inking the edges once I’d trimmed it. I got out Imagine If… Alphabet and Present Time (it is great being able to use a Christmas themed cutout for a Birthday themed project), covering them with coordinating cardstocks and inking the edges. I then attached them to the base with some of the paper candles from the Imaginisce Bday Bash.

Next was a trip to Bunnings for a doorknob, and bit of help from my DH fitting it into the centre of the circle.

Keeping with the circle theme, I made tags – cutting circles of paper and then mounting them on cardstock. I punched a hole and threaded twine through for hanging. I made as many tags as fitted out of the three sheets of paper so that I would have spare ones ready for any new family members that might arrive (either by birth or marriage!). I added the names and dates with my Dymo, then hung the whole thing up next to our calendar – now I shouldn’t forget anyone’s Birthday and might even get cards out on time!

We have a summer giveaway with Imagine If…, a Beach Words Chipboard Pack. To enter you need to comment on this post, and also get an entry by visiting the Imagine If… Facebook Page; then use the Rafflecopter link below to make your entry.

Ocean Tag

Hi everyone and welcome back to my happy crafty place!

This is my first Design Team project of 2015 for Imagine if!
and there is a neat summer giveaway for you to enter!

To go in the draw to win a $20 pack of Beach themed goodies from Imagine if....
To be in to win you must leave a comment here on my blog.

I started off gluing the sea shell shapes onto the die cuts from Imagine if
then painted the tag with gesso and a coat of white and sea blue paint to created a swirling and blending of the two to get an ocean colour!

Next I used Mod podge and tissue to get the white foam wave effect, painted my sea horses with a yellow, toned with white and some tissue added for more texture!

Using the Mod Podge I crinkled some fine mesh cloth to the bottom of the tag!
Glued all the bits and pieces on!

I printed the sentiment and glued to scrap cardboard, cut out added it to the tag!
Finally I coloured the edges of all the chipboard and sentiments to highlight them a little, tied some fibres and added an anchor to the tag to finish off!
Lovely Ocean themed tag for summer.

Altered Journal - Live

Here I am again with the first Imagine If DT project for 2015, using up some of the leftovers and other pieces that Jo sent us in out Design Team parcels last year.  Before I get started on the project I would like to announce that Jo at Imagine If has asked us to let everyone know that each DT member has a prize pack to giveaway, which has a value of $20.00 and consists of beach words and things.  All you have to do to be in the draw is to comment on this blog on my project and "like" the Imagine If facebook page . Good luck to everyone who enters the giveaway. It is a great prize.  Here is a picture of the prize you could win.

My project this week is a  little journal made from a recycled book and since I loved the horse with wings I made to put in the Mini album I made and I had another horse I decided to make another one for the front of the cover.

Firstly I took the pages out of the book.

I then covered the outside with tissue paper and painted everything black.

Using the leftover chipboard pieces from the Advent Calendar I painted them black, covered them with aluminium tape, ran them through the embossing folder and glued them to the front of the book.

I then painted the horse and the circle frame black and embossed them. In the end I used a heart instead of the star pictured below.  I dry brushed them with silver paint, die cut the wings and a Tim Holtz clock, painted some keys and the chipboard word "Live" from Imagine If and assembled them on the front cover.

I also
made a little charm using an Imagine If chipboard gear and a small chipboard unicorn along with some metal gears.  This was added to the spine of the journal after I sewed in the signatures.

Hope you like this little project and again good luck with the giveaway.
