Scrapbooking - believe

Hi everyone, a new page for Twiddleybitz in Australia today, this is one of those photos that you treasure, my lovely niece was playing the model for me, and this is the one that made me smile.  She is gorgeous and I just know that she is going to really make something of her self, that fact that we both have photography in common, keeps us chatting for ages when we catch up.
I really wanted to make sure that the photo was framed, and of course you cannot go past this beautiful square frame, and then this fancy oval frame.  I was originally going to paint copper, and then stamp over the paint a grassy design, but I wasn't really that pleased with it, so I changed to lime green, when I first started dabbing it, I liked the fact that you could see some of the text coming through, and some of the copper, so I went with the more mottled look.

I wanted this text to go inside the frame, but it didn't fit, so I put it sort of over and under and I liked the result, a few flowers, and the look was perfect.

Resin flowers and paper flowers and some tulle helped to soften the look.
I also used two pages of the same range and I layered the top right and bottom left corners.
I had these awesome pins and these Twiddleybitz fern leaves which I cut up and placed on the frame and amongst the flowers.

Keep your feet on the ground, but let your heart soar as high as it will.
All the best everyone.

Scrapbooking page - RSA Remember me

Good morning and a what a bit of a mix of weather for us this Anzac day, Jo here with my Anzac page for Artfull Crafts.  Both my daughters have represented their schools at the RSA speech competitions, this is Sam's page, she was placed third for the Waikato Bay of Plenty competition, which was fantastic.  Her speech was about family that had served in all the different wars, and her uncle turned up to watch and he was in the speech, so it was special for both of them.  No one had ever mentioned Malaysia and the soldiers that fought there before, so it was very memorable.  So I had to use this range from Kaisercraft Remember me.

This range was perfect for this project.  The poppies and the We Remember were really important, and as for this flowers that look like poppies, they are red roses, that I squashed and then I found a large white brad and I cut a black circle and adhered to the top, and then added some black kindy glitz. I think they look like poppies. The world is a Kaisercraft wooden flourish that I inked brown.

I had a lot of photo so I decided to make the page open up.  "We remember" is the tab for opening the page.

This is the page opened right up, I was glad to keep all the photos from the event, but then Sam's great uncle turned up so that what was so special for her, that is why it made the front cover.

I used Remember me paper, collectables, and the world flourish and a bird flourish

Happy birthday card

Hi everyone, today I have made a birthday card, I know a card from me.  Still sometimes we need to do these things.  This is made using paper from Kaisercraft and one of their doily wooden embellishments, and a little wooden face, and of course flowers lots of them.

I also did a double butterfly which I cut out and coloured and covered in kindy glitz, and then I added a metal butterfly over the top.  The card was still looking a little hard until I added the muslin underneath, and the lace I threaded through the doily.
 Hope you enjoy.

Scrapbooking a wedding page using Kaisercrafts elegance collection

Hi everyone Jo here for Artfull Crafts, a new page is on the blog today using Kaisercrafts Elegance collection.  I have been waiting for the perfect paper to do this wedding photo for a friend.  The young lady in the photo I have known since she was 3 years of age, and wow what a stunner she has become.  This was a quick snap that was taken at her house, and I loved the colours in the background and as soon as I saw this paper I just knew it was time to do a wedding page.

Melissa's dress was so beautiful that I just add to stick to white lace, and beads.  Melissa also had the theme of butterflies for her wedding, so I also made sure to add those to the layout.  I tucked in some cream ribbon roses from Kaisercraft, it was fun using white and cream and gold together.

I also added a few pearl embellishments on to the page.

The collectables, with some white flowers from various sources were added to the page, and then more pearls added.

I also added these Prima bling roses that I already had, which matched perfectly.

The lace is actually three different laces, that I layered up to give a really thick look, and very textural.

I used a rectangle doily, and then punched a dark green and white doily using card stock, to repeat the pattern of three.  Some tulle to finish.  I gave it to my friend for her wall, and she loved it.  Now she can finally show it around.  I hope you like the range as much as I do, so go and have a play.

Scrapbooking page - Always be U

Hi Jo here and today I have a new page for Artfull Crafts on the blog using the new Kaisercraft needle and thread collection.  This is my angel Alysha and she is not wearing denim jeans and a black jacket, so I get to do a pretty page for a change.
I started with the backstich page, and worked up from there.  I used inks and stamps to colour the back of the page and then I started to add all the different embellishments.

I added the always be and then a U from the bling alphabet range. The text is from another Kaisercraft range, that I had left over.  I also used the rubons from the needle and thread collection, and the cotton  holder.  .

I used Kaisercft lace across the page, and of course the lovely flowers, and a few extra embellishments, including the wooden rose and leaves, which I coloured with distress markers.  I  left the clock plain as I had colour behind it.  The bee and crown are from the forget me not collection, that matched perfectly with what I was doing.

It was fun to do a pretty page for a change, I also had fun colouring the page. I hope you enjoy the collection, check it out in the Artfull Crafts shop, or on-line.

Have a good week.

Memories Box

Hi everyone, today I have a post up for Twiddleybitz in Australia, they have extended my guest designer spot for another 3 months, so I am very excited to be continuing with them, to bring you some hopefully fun and interesting bits and pieces.  Today I have played it quite safe, no random thing today.  This is a memory box that I have made.

This is a cigar box that I decorated using graphic 45 paper and Twiddleybitz chipboard.  I covered the box first of all, and then I used book binders tape to secure the sides.  I have used the Twiddleybitz chicken mesh wire, that I have painted silver, as the base for the project.

I used some of the sprockets and I embossed them through the cuttle bug, and in an embossing folder.  The machine wasn't that pleased with the thickness if the chipboard, but it did work and nothing was broken.

I then inked the sprocket gently to get this tree design on it. I sprayed some muslin (definitely a favourite).
I made the resin bird, and I added feathers and flowers and leaves to the front of the box.

I wanted to put these hinges on but they were silver, so out came the alcohol ink and they got coloured, and I used brads to adhere.

I added this measuring tape around the box.
I then screwed on this tap from Tim Holtz on to the top of the box, and then put this key latch on with brads, on the side.  I used a 7 gypsies elastic to hold the box closed.

On the left is the inside front cover, it has a Prima seat which I inked.  I also used the Twiddleybitz winged things frame to frame my memory quote.  I added the little birds as the frame was simple and I didn't want to change that to much.  Finally  i added a few flowers and some Xmas decorations that i cut up to mimic the graphic 45 picture that I put on this side.  Finally the bottom of the box was left plain, as I am filling the box with lots of papers.

One memory box completed, it is now full of everything I needed to keep safe.

Scrapbooking - In the attic collection

Hi Jo here with another page for Artfull Crafts using In the Attic collection.

This photo really is priceless for our family, whenever the kids got together they would always go and raid my in-laws dress up collection (they do shows at rest homes in the area), so the kids would disappear and then arrive back out to show us their latest look.
The little one on the left is my niece, then my daughter, then my NEPHEW with the long black hair, then my eldest daughter.

I decided just to have fun with this page, using a lot of bits and pieces left over from other projects, including flowers, collectables, and this really fun penny farthing.

I hope you like the page, a little bit of fun today.  All the best.
