Hi everyone, I hope you are all safe and well, as today has been a reminder of how easily things can change, with another large earthquake this morning and lots of after shocks it certainly has been busy with phone calls and facebook messages to friends and loved ones in the areas where the earthquake has struck the hardest. I hope that you are all safe and sound wherever you are. It has also been shocking recently to have lost another craft store here in NZ! It is a constant reminder to us how fragile our industry really is. We work extremely long hours to find new products and manufacture them and make/design kits, and we appreciate the constant support we get from all of you. There are a few groups on line selling products, and if you do see people asking for products or shops in NZ, we would appreciate it if you can suggest us. We are not allowed to self promote on these sites, but other people can recommend us, it is so hard to sit and watch people suggesting going overseas for products when they are right here in NZ.  I know sometimes that we are more expensive, and trust me we do everything we can to keep the costs down, but we do pay import duty on everything that comes in, and postage and GST, so that is usually why.  We also pay wages and support/sponsor events here in our local communities and NZ that other overseas companies do not. Remember if you are after something that is not on our website, please email us or ring us, as we may just not have it loaded, or we may know who in NZ does stock it. If you have suggestions for stock please do suggest it, we love feedback and always need to know what you are needing. We are not going anywhere! We are totally focused on keeping NZ made products available right here, and 2017 is going to see some new and amazing products coming out of the store. Right on a more positive note CHRISTMAS IS COMING!  So excited, I am busy organising our town promotion again, Spirit of Christmas, and looking forward to seeing how that works out this year. Art Journal - Tracy

Hello, Tracy here. I haven't shared anything in a while with one thing happening after another in everyday life, things had to take a break. But I really enjoyed doing this art journal page and getting my fingers dirty.

Firstly I used patterned tissue paper, and picked out some colours from my Gelatos. Then it was a case of picking out stencils and stamps from the shop that I wanted to use. Face 3 - Samantha was stencilled on first. I then wanted to frame her face using Dylusion Stamp - Branching out. It didn't stamp to well on coloured paper so I used acrylic paint over these. I then used some coarse texture gel over Brick Pattern stencil and Texture Paste for the Pattern Circles. Below you can see a close up. Happy crafting - Tracy

Only a couple more days until its NOVEMBER!!! Where has this year gone? Can you believe it's only 9 more weekends until Christmas!!! We have so much on at the moment in the shop between the many classes, custom cutting and graphic design/invitation work Aly has been doing it has been all hands on deck! So much so that my daughter Sam is moving down from Auckland to help us out! Just when I finally have my new house all sorted we have have a house load moving in! Sammy and her partner Sean (who has already been living with us for a couple of months because of his new job in Hamilton) are moving in properly and they are bringing their best friend Danyon from Auckland down as well - he is also moving into our spare room, which was purple, but has changed to tones from black to blue and brown! So its suddenly a lot fuller around here both at work and at home!!! But honestly I enjoy cooking and baking for the boys - they love my food (and are not fussy like my girls are) so I'll keep them around!
