term 4 class list

Hi all, well after today we cannot say mother nature is not trying, although I have to say I nearly had to get a jacket the other day it was just a bit chilly.  A quick drive to Tauranga this morning in the sunshine, and I felt like the cobwebs got cleaned out of my head and I am rearing to go again.

Firstly apologies for not keeping you up to date with what has been happening, I felt the whole term has been waiting for the next thing to happen before I could let you know, but now everything is going ahead so here it all is, a very long and busy newsletter.

Blenheim was awesome, had an amazing time, lovely weather, didn't actually get to see any of the local countryside but had an awesome walk around the square and shops with Trina McLune and Beth Barnes.  Classes went very well, and I was pleased most of my kits sold out.  If you get a chance to attend the SPA retreat which is on again next year, I would highly recommend it.

Something I am super excited about, is that my eldest daughter Alysha, a graphic designer, is joining us at the shop 2 days a week to start with, whilst we get our new venture under way, We are offering a graphics service through the shop, expanding our invitation section of the business.  We will be laser cutting our invitations, and we are able to go the graphics as well, which will make things heaps easier for us.  We will also be offering laser cut business cards and much more.  She will also be available to help design stencils and anything else you may need. She will also be managing the new website, newsletters and more.

We are getting a brand new fancy website, this is getting underway in the next few weeks, and we hope for it to be live November.  In the meantime our old website will still be running, but we will not be updating it as the new one will take over from it.

We have a new design team being announced this week, congratulations Ngaire Bennetts is back, and Cheryl Owsley, Sharon Newport and Tracey Jackson, are all joining the team and of course Alysha as well.  I will give you more information as we get going.

We are off to the Wellington paper arts show September 26th and 27th September https://www.facebook.com/wellingtonpaperarts
this is going to be interesting as we are driving the stock down, already I have booked the accommodation in the wrong part of Wellington, so that is a great start, hopefully I can get a refund and get a closer place to stay.  I really do need to get my directions straight before I do silly things.  We have an gorgeous make n take and are super excited to be showing that off.

The shop will be closed on Thursday 24th from 1pm, while we are in Wellington and not open again until Tuesday 29th 10am.  We are sorry for any inconvenience but hopefully you have enough notice.

Stock has been flowing in and out at quite a steady pace, and we have been struggling to get the stock loaded, and even advertised to you, but if there is ever anything you need, we may have it even if it is not on the website, also just because it is on the website we may have sold out, so feel free to contact us about any products you may want.  We are finding some fun and interesting things to stock and of course we are always manufacturing new products.  A certain husband got all excited about an idea I had and has spent hours drawing it up on the computer, (just as well I don't have to do that) so fingers crossed we will have some new designs again soon.

Kits: This is an on going thing for us now, more and more often people are asking for us to supply classes as kits, if you want a kit please ask, it is easy enough to make kits up, while we are packing classes.

Classes:
Once again we are running a school holiday program, but due to being in Wellington we are not starting it until midway through the first week.  The theme is Christmas presents, so your children can make gifts for members of their families or friends.    Children must be over 5 years of age.

Wednesday 30th September: 10am - 12pm  DREAM word $20.00, paint, emboss and decorate a dream word.  You can choose from a range of colours, designed as a gift for a girl or a sister but can be done for a boy.

Tuesday 6th October 10am - 12pm Birthday Board $25.00 a gift for dad
We know how hard it is to remember birthdays, so this wall hanging will help with that.  Will paint the board and the letters and then the tags paper will be precut. You can add birthday details later.

Wednesday 7th October:  10am - 11.30am Dream catcher $15.00,
This is a simple project with beads and feather and embossing on a disc to create a dream catcher, designed for a brother or a boy but can be for a girl.  Project not completed yet.

  .

That is the school holiday program.  Booking essential, I will put in school newsletters, so you have a few days to get your spots first if you want them for your children.  You can email me imagineif@xtra.co.nz or phone or text on 0274991485, during work hours please.

Hello
Here we are term 3 has started, winter is upon us, and it is only 5 months till Christmas!
It is amazing how time flies, I have just this weekend celebrated my youngest child Samantha's 21st birthday.  It is incredible how fast they grow up, I know people have been saying that forever but it seems crazy, that it was just the other day I was taking her home from the birthing centre, and then it was her first day of school, now in 8 weeks she will have finished her double degree in History and ancient history.

We have started the term with a bit of a quiet start, after senz and then the 21st had a pre 1900 theme for it, so I needed a bit of time to catch my breath.

We have stock arriving all the time, but I have to be honest and say we are really just restocking the basics at the moment, as we didn't even have one tube of glue in the shop, but that has been remedied now.  We will upload the stock to the website as quickly as we can.

This email is mostly about classes, as I am getting asked on a daily basis what we are up to.

Set classes
Wednesday morning scrapbooking:  This is still a full class, but if you are keen please feel free to put your name on the wait list.

Every 2nd Friday morning card class: This is also a full class, but you can go on the wait list.

Thursday evening: this class fluctuates between overfull, full and sometimes a couple of spaces depending on the week, so if you are keen please phone for a chat.  Jo on 0274991485.

One off classes:

Saturday 1st August Card class $20.00  10am - 1pm.

3 cards, one step card with a sewing theme, one purple swing card, and one twist card.
We will be using peelcraft stickers, to decorate our three different cards, as well as some awesome paper arts paper.
I unfortunately forgot to bring the cards home to photograph, so I cannot show them to you, but they look amazing.

Saturday 15th August - 10am - 3pm Apothecary class $50.00 or hollow book class $65.00
I have a few of each of these classes from Senz left over, so I am going to do a double class.  You can work on either project, the apothcary kit dark or light version or the Hollow book secret garden kit.  Everything is supplied except your glues.

For the apothecary class you will build the cupboard and decorate and fill all the bottles and vials, make some embellishments.

or  for the hollow book, you will make the book, decorate it and make the hidden garden inside.  it is a 30cm x 30cm project, so there is lots not seen in the photo.

this is just part of what is inside the book.

Thursday night 20th August and 27th August 6pm - 8pm $50.00 Christmas houses (over two weeks) with Alysha.
Christmas house class - there are 2 spots left in this popular senz class.

You will decorate this row of houses, although they will be slightly different from houses pictured and done at senz, as we have had to make adjustments as we have different papers and embellishments.

Friday 21st August - Sunday 23rd August Blenheim Scrapping and paper arts retreat Blenheim.
1 scrapbooking class, 1 christmas house class, 1 card kit and two make n take tag projects.
http://www.scrappingandpaperarts.co.nz/

Saturday September 5th: 9 Scrapbooking pages in a day class. $70.00
We will complete 9 pages, some pretty pink, some grunge blue, some in between.
There are no pictures yet, but I will have them ready next email.

Saturday 19th September Grunge Fairy class $65.00
From this full on Senz class we will be making a fairy, using texture and fibre, and other mixed media bits to make this piece.  You can choose which colours you would like to use, and we will be changing the mixed media piece that are on the fairy as well.  This is just to give you a heads up of the date, and the basic shape / look of the fairy.

Then we will have the Christmas present school holiday program, and then we will start term 4 with all our Christmas classes, including cards and houses, wreaths and more.

So that is the plan,

If you wish to book, please email me on imagineif@xtra.co.nz or phone during business hours 0274991485.  Please do not wait, most projects we only have a certain amount of kits available.

All the best for the weeks ahead, and I will keep you updated as new stock becomes available, and changes or updates to classes.

July - Senz and school holiday program

Hi everyone, and hello JULY.
I love the cooler months, the frosts, the colours that it brings, and the freshness that is part of winter in the Waikato.  Dead batteries at 6am however not so much.  Lucky my daughter was home from University for a few days and she took me to work, otherwise, it would have been a long cold walk into town.

The shop has been buzzing, we have been unpacking new stock, and packing up new designs, kits are all done, and now we are on the last week, as we head into Senz which starts on Friday for all of you, but Thursday for me and my team of helpers.

Pauline is on the make n take this year, and we are doing a tag, with a few different products, and chipboard, and out brand new release 6 tag acrylic template!!!!!! So excited by this, and so far the people we have questioned are very positive about it.

Alysha and Sam (Samantha) are on sales and phone help.... we are running a Senz competition, come to the stand, take a selfie (or with one of the girls help) a photo of the stand, tag us and like us (if you don't already) on facebook, and you are in to win a daily prize valued from $25 - 50.00.  Prize drawn at 4pm everyday, and can be collected.

Please pop by and say hello, if you are at Senz, I will most probably be in the classroom, most of the time, but hope to pop out now and again, to see how things are going.

 New products: where to start...
Distress ink Hickory smoke - we have in all products, stains, pads, sprays, markers, and re inkers.

http://www.imagineif.co.nz/ink-pads/
we also have the new glaze, http://www.imagineif.co.nz/gesso-gel-and-other-mediums/distress-micro-glaze/
refresher http://www.imagineif.co.nz/ink-pads/distress-refresher/
and new DIY ink pad http://www.imagineif.co.nz/ink-pads/diy-distrss-ink-pads/

we have also had a whole heap of new bazill arrive in store, as well as lots of flowers, and stamps from stamping bella.    http://www.imagineif.co.nz/stamping-bella/

as well as the new Finnabair stamps http://www.imagineif.co.nz/prima-stamps/

and new from Graphic 45

also some caste products from Prima
http://www.imagineif.co.nz/prima-products/

Check out the links if you want anything.

We are clearing the shop out to go to Senz, we have a 9 metre stand, so we are going to have to close the shop while we are away.  We will be closed from 12pm Wednesday 8th July until 10am Wednesday 15th.  We are sorry for any incovenience this may cause, but having staff man an empty shop is really not worthwhile.

Classes at Senz:  we have a few spaces left, so if you are coming up, you might want to check out what you might like to do.  http://www.imagineif.co.nz/senz-class-bookings-2015/

I also now have one space in the Christmas house class, as someone is having surgery and needs a kit now, if you wish to do the class please email me... and I will organise a spot for you.

School Holiday program:
With being away we are not able to run a full prgram this year, but we have been asked to do something, so we are going to run a one day only program.

Friday 17th July
10am - 12pm - beach page... $25.00 you will need to bring a photo of the beach, to go on this layout.  Dont be fooled, there is a lot of techniques in this project.  We will be making a miniature sand bottle, and playing with inks and netting and paints to make a fun layout.  It will be adhered to a chipboard backing for hanging on a wall if you want.

Paris Piece:  1pm - 3pm.
We will make this mosaic picture, and then add all the pretties to make this awesome picture for you room.  it is very easy to do, and includes collage, embossing, and using flowers, metal and chipboard Eiffle tower to create this piece.

Well that is is, I will get the term class list out as soon as I can after Senz.  I want to show case all our new MDF kits, stencils and more.

New term classes will include card classes, advent calendar class, and a few classes from Senz, and some new ones.

Also a reminder about the SPA retreat in Blenheim
http://www.scrappingandpaperarts.co.nz/   class lists are out now, and I have heard there is only 4 spaces left.  Check it out.

Lastly we are taking all our amazing fudges to Senz, and a few other sweet treats, so check them out if you are feeling a little flat after all the shopping.

Have a great week, stay warm, and maybe see you at Senz.

End of May and Senz classes

Hi everyone, and welcome to our newsletter,

Our first month in the new space has gone so fast, classes have gone well, and we seem to have made a popular choice with the fudge, yes we will be re ordering Lemon Meringue fudge, and the peppermint as it has flown out the door.

Senz classes have gone on sale and we have nearly sold out (well 1 space left) in 2 of our classes, and only a few spaces left in others, so I am very pleased with that, especially as the lead up to the sale of the classes is so nerve wracking.

May update, new classes new shop.

Hi all
We did it!  15 guys, 1 1/2 hours and it was shifted from one shop, up the road on the main street, and into another.  Now the mess! that took 3 days to sort.  But it looks so nice, so purple of course and bright and fresh.

We have been so pleased with all the new people coming to check us out, and of course it helps with our new range of products in store...Sweets and Gourmet foods.  That's right we put in an old fashioned sweet shop to make coming to visit us, just a little more fun.

We now stock Heavenly fudge, Lemon Meringue, Baileys, double chocolate, red velvet and peppermint flavoured.   We stock vinaigrettes, sauces, dressings, chutneys and more.  We also stock Glo hearts (you remember them?) Giant jaffas,
and well heaps more.  The fudge isn't photographed because it is not good to drool on your expensive computer or laptop, so I am saving your software... or the photo is out of focus and it wasn't useable, you can decide which option to use.

Here is half of the classroom, so plenty of room for everyone.

The new address is:  216 Thames street, Morrinsville.  Opposite the art gallery.

New hours:
Monday  10am - 4pm
Tuesday 10am - 3pm               (Pauline is managing the shop)
Wednesday 10am - 4pm
Thursday 10am - 8pm
Friday 10am - 4pm
Saturday 10am - 12pm

Phone is still the same for a bit longer:  0274991485

Then we are off to Senz.  We are teaching 9 classes, and oh my goodness was that a task and a half.  But we have sent our list off.  I have a few customers asking if we will be doing the classes down here afterwards.  That is a bit difficult to answer, as sometimes we cannot get more stock, it will also depend on sales in Auckland.  We have done a few extra kits, so the answer is a maybe.  However if you see a class of mine you would like to do, I recommend booking it at Senz, just in case.

That's it for now, heaps more coming.  See you at the new shop.

term 2 newsletter and class list

Hello
Term two is upon us, and Anzac day is nearly here. With a Soldier in our family, and a daughter studying war history (oh yes they have some right royal arguments about war) we are conscious of the need to remember those who have given their lives for us, and also to remember those who did come home, but perhaps did but are not the same men and women as the ones that left these shores.  With that in mind, I would like to remind everyone about the Gallipoli competition being held at Senz this year.

I have been made aware that not everyone knows what SENZ is.  It is NZ largest dedicated scrapbooking and papercraft show.  This year it is in Auckland, from the 10th, 11th and 12 July.  We will be there along with other retailers from around NZ.  There will be dedicated classrooms where you get to play, maybe pretty (hint hint), maybe grungy (hint hint) maybe I cannot tell you what we are doing, because it is under wraps until the VIP's get first look at the classes.  So if you are wanting to go, I have tickets at the shop, VIP 3day pass, 2 days pass and one day passes.
http://www.senz.co.nz/

Whats new:
We have been getting lots of new papers, stamps, chipboard, and more into stock, however it has been running out just as fast.
We have restocked our dylusions, and glitter pastes, as well as alcohol inks, and vivas.  There is a new Viva colour called Emerald, oh my goodness, it is lovely.
If you have not used viva, you are missing out.  Click the link in the next paragraph to see it.

The next product is also by Viva and it is called Rusty Paper, oh my goodness, love love love this.  If you want rust, then this is the product for you, chipboard loves it, paper loves it.  Paint it on, dab it around, on black, on gold, looks like rust.
http://www.imagineif.co.nz/cremes-pastes-rubs/

It has been a very busy few months, but now with winter sneaking up on us, I must admit I am looking forward to those cooler days, when it is a little easier to think sometimes, and definitely much better to craft in but it is not so good when water pours into your shop again, and then again.

So a problem that cannot be solved easily, as they cannot find the leak, so we are moving.  Luckily our old shop is sitting vacant, so we decided to hit it with a coat of paint last weekend on the inside, purple of course, and then with a bit more purple just to top it off.

that's my poor husband on the ground scrubbing paint he spilled, shush we aren't complaining about that or we are so going to get into trouble.

So new address after Anzac weekend, opening on Wednesday 29th 10am.
216 Thames street, Morrinsville, opposite the Wallace art gallery.  We also will have a new range of products in store, but I will leave that little sweet surprise until next week.

Winner:
The winner of our Autumn challenge was :  Debbie Mcdonald
